Statement of Purpose

Research is part of a higher education activity. The teachers’ teaching in higher education institutions is expected to do research and share the knowledge gained through research with the students. For this, the teacher is required to conduct research that brings a new experience to the academic world.

As the world is dynamic, especially with the fast adoption of technology, there is a redundancy in the body of academic knowledge. What was normal earlier is not normal after the technological intervention. Earlier there was an instrument to analyze the readiness of people to embrace the technology (Technology Readiness Index-TRI). Due to the Covid19 pandemic, people are forced to accept technology than embrace it. Now, using TRI on people for research may not be relevant.

The academic research needs to catch up in tracking the behavioral and emotional changes people undergo in the society. The role of a teacher today is getting extended beyond his/ her subject. The teacher is expected by the students to relate the subject to the societal factors. Education is likely to become horizontal across disciplines. A good teacher is expected to bring relevance to the subject to societal issues. Research on such interdisciplinary areas is needed today.

I need this course on Research Publication, as I am aware that I am not yet fully competent in the area of research and publication. Significantly, while submitting papers, I feel I am not well informed on choosing the journal for publication. Programs such as these will make me informed on the nuances of the publication part and scaling up the journal in which I can publish my work.
